Dr. Bob Contiguglia was elected president of U.S. Soccer in 1998, serving until 2006. During his tenure, the United States hosted and won the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In 2002, the USMNT earned its best modern World Cup result, and the USWNT won gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Bob served on US Soccer’s Board of Directors (1990-2018), director of the United States Olympic Committee (1998-2006), President of US Youth Soccer (1990-96), and President of Colorado Youth Soccer (1980-88).
Beyond his service to soccer, Dr. Contiguglia was President of Colorado Kidney Associates in Denver. Currently retired, he was in the private practice of Nephrology. He is past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Colorado Public Radio.
He coaches at Real Colorado.
