Hank Steinbrecher served as general secretary of the United States Soccer Federation from 1990-2000. During his tenure, the United States qualified men’s teams for the World Cup in 1994 and 1998; the Women’s World Cup in 1991, 1995 and 1999, and organized teams for Copa America Championships, CONCACAF Gold Cups, and Olympic Games.
Prior to joining US Soccer, Hank was director of sports marketing at Gatorade, head coach for men’s soccer at Boston University, Appalachian State, and Warren Wilson. He was Boston soccer venue director for the 1984 Olympic Games.
He won a national championship in 1970 as a player at Davis & Elkins.
